Simona Ruscheva is a Bulgarian, London-based contemporary artist

(graduated Fine Art Painting in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria.)

Currently living and working in London, whose practice explores culture, heritage, and identity within the modern age. Drawing from Eastern European folkloric traditions, her work reinterprets symbolism, costume, and ritual through a distinctly contemporary lens.

Her paintings balance soft gradients and aura-like atmospheres with bold forms and sharp edges, creating dreamlike compositions that feel both ancient and future-facing. Threads, patterns, and neo-folkloric motifs act as visual metaphors for memory, continuity, and transformation — where tradition is not preserved, but reimagined.

Ruscheva has presented solo exhibitions internationally, including Galerie OVO, Taipei (2024), London (2022), and Santa Fe, USA (2021). Her work has been recognised by institutions including the Royal Institute of British Artists and the De Laszlo Foundation, and is held in the global art collection of Standard Chartered Bank.
