NICK DILLON - LONDON CALLING
£4,250.00

Released in 1979, London Calling is widely regarded as one of the greatest albums in rock history. More than a record, it became the soundtrack to a generation—capturing the energy, uncertainty and social unrest of its time while cementing The Clash as one of Britain’s most influential bands.

Nick Dillon pays tribute to this cultural landmark by reconstructing the iconic album artwork through twelve meticulously layered applications of acrylic paint, embedding the complete lyrics of London Calling directly into the surface of the canvas. The song itself becomes part of the artwork’s physical structure, adding depth, texture and meaning beyond the instantly recognisable image.

The bold typography echoes the original album sleeve, while the embossed lyrics reward closer inspection, revealing the craftsmanship and extraordinary attention to detail hidden beneath the composition.

Powerful, tactile and unmistakably contemporary, London Calling celebrates one of the defining moments in British music history through one of Nick Dillon’s signature layered techniques.
